The Restaurant

Co-owned by NBA star Vince Carter and his mother, philanthropist Michelle Carter-Scott, Vince Carter’s brings together great food and spectacular design in a welcoming “upscale-casual” dining atmosphere. Vince Carter’s is perfectly suited for the NBA star’s hometown. The menu features a wide variety of chef created recipes inspired by top-quality ingredients including Certified Angus Beef ®.

The impressive building is a magnificent display of wood and stone designed by architect Greg Simpson of Cuhaci and Peterson, Orlando, Florida. Michelle worked closely with award winning interior designer Anna Schmidt to create an unparalleled dining ambiance. Each guest’s view through Vince Carter’s reveals breathtaking detail in design.

Message from vince

The dream of playing in NBA began many years ago as my love for basketball strengthened. Having a liking for sports is common for children but having a passion and understanding for the game of basketball was something very valuable to me at a young age. As basketball became an important part of my childhood development, my mother always reminded me of the importance of education and to have a plan for life after basketball. This may seem funny but I did not have an option to graduate from college. Obtaining a college degree was mandatory, regardless of becoming a professional basketball player. To this day I credit my success to the stern hand and dedicated parenting that has enabled me to be the man I am today.

Now here I stand a college graduate, professional basketball player, and owner of my new restaurant, Vince Carter’s. This vision began years ago as I began thinking back to those conversations with my mom about what my plans would be after basketball. Although my basketball career is far from over, I’m thankful to know that I have taken the appropriate steps to have a smooth transition.

Being able to work with my mom to open Vince Carter’s in my hometown of Daytona Beach, FL has definitely been a dream come true. I’m also thankful for the 130+ jobs that we have been able to provide during these difficult times in our economy. My vision for Vince Carter’s was to provide an upscale eating establishment coupled with an environment suitable for watching exciting sporting events. Additionally, patrons also have the opportunity to have an intimate dining experience with live music inside of the piano lounge.

Of course we all agree that the food is most important to maintain a successful restaurant. Our menu features delicious appetizers, entrée’s, and desserts for everyone.

The Pasta Vinsanity is a large bowl filled with capellini pasta which is then tossed with olive oil, garlic, portabella mushroom slices, kalamata olives, plum tomatoes, and feta cheese. Guests can add chicken, shrimp, or scallops for an additional charge.

The 12-ounce rib eye, which is my favorite cut of steak, is prepared perfectly as medium rare and glistened with a garlic herb butter.

Most of our entrees are served with the vegetable of the day, but to complete the meal you can also order side dishes of roasted garlic mashed potatoes, mashed sweet potato, rice pilaf, capellini marinara, French fries, sweet potato fries, or my all time favorite, mac and cheese!

Of course a meal isn’t complete without dessert. We feature “jump shots” which are various cakes and mousses served in chilled mini-glasses.
